A Primary Bedroom Retreat: Inspired

The time we spend in our bedrooms, the importance of sleep, rest, solitude, is vital to our wellbeing. It is your retreat from the world. Your home is truly your escape from the world. Currently we are living through a global pandemic. The stress, chaos and fear is palpable. Your home and the way it feels has never been more important. Creating a retreat in your own bedroom is a gift to yourself. As I currently compile inspiration for my own next home, I wanted to share my most recent inspirations for making your primary bedroom a true retreat.

All of these rooms are flooded with light and neutral linens and furniture. When beginning to design your own primary bedroom retreat, I tend to always start with the bed. Everything else can be layered on top.

Rugs are next. For this particular dreamy whites and neutral retreat vibe, stick with ivories, beiges and neutral tones for the rug, but bring in texture. Woven textures plus soft textures creates depth in the space. Below are amazing foundational pieces for the rug choice for primary retreat. Layer on the faux sheepskin near a chaise or chair in the corner for extra glamour.

The other decor items below will round out your amazing new bedroom. Try to keep your decor different shades of white, cream and beige. Lend towards a minimalist approach, and try to do less instead of more. Make it your own and enjoy time to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Cheers!
